System Overview
ELUTIONS Information and Control (Automation) system for
utilities is composed of an enterprise application software
and networked hardware technologies that enable SCADA, command
and control of the customer’s strategic assets and
applications. In addition it provides monitoring and control
for customers energy consumption and generation.
AEM® enables real-time monitoring and control, forecasting
and billing of energy systems, generation, HVAC, PLCs, RTUs
or other user specified equipment. The AEM® data server
stores all of the information pertaining to the utility
using the SCADA hardware, which interrogates the devices
on site and transmits their information. AEM® allows
users to view and manage this information in a convenient
web-based interface.
In addition, the utilities can work together with their
customer in efficient energy strategies. The utility can
use ELUTIONS application and tools to collect metering data
from their customers and achieve energy consumption goals.
Customers’ data is communicated to ELUTIONS Servers
using either the Internet or through cellular network. The
server processes the data, and creates profiles, customer
reports, power quality analysis, user defined Alarming (pager,
cell phone, Email), multiple site aggregation, Real time
pricing, Cost allocation to sub-groups, rate comparisons
and others. This is presented on a standard Web browser,
providing easy access to energy management information to
help maximize efficiency.

Competitive Advantage through Improved SCADA monitoring and Energy Consumption Strategy
Utilities buy products and services for SCADA applications that monitor power quality on distribution circuits efficiently and relatively inexpensively. Utilities are also interested in automatic meter reading (AMR) for commercial and industrial (C&I) customers. Many utilities provide data to C&I customers on the web to assist their customers in managing energy costs. Many utilities are able to increase profitability by offering this service on a fee basis.
How would a Utility use the ELUTIONS solutions?
Utilities could:
- Resell hardware and software to their customers to provide energy profiling services
- Monitor power quality in the distribution system
- Host ELUTIONS software on their corporate website, and provide energy profiling services via the web
- All other ELUTIONS products and services, including
enterprise Application Software and Networked Hardware,
help utilities to enable Wide Area Command and Control
of assets, SCADA and Energy Consumption.
