ELUTIONS launches new Wireless Logic Controller
ELUTIONS announced the launch of its new break-away wireless device supporting three main cellular networks (GSM, iDEN and CDMA) along with Ethernet, USB and ZigBee which extend the reach of M2M applications in almost any industry. The WLC was formally launched at the SPS/IPC/Drives automation show in Nuremberg, Germany, on November 28th, 2006.
The WLC™ (Wireless Logic Controller) is a universal control platform that simplifies the integration and development of automation systems and extends enterprise control solutions with breaking-edge technology and end-to-end product offering composed of hardware, user programmable middleware and end-user data communications software. In addition, the development, monitoring and control is made easier through the use of integrated data communications, industrial hardened I/O and standard fixed wire networks integrated into one rugged design. The WLC contains everything needed to handle information and control, remotely, in a standalone box.

The WLC sets itself apart from other PLCs and RTUs with a clearly superior set of innovative, ground-breaking features. It offers wireless communication (on GSM/GPRS, CDMA or iDEN networks for use anywhere in the world) for backhaul of information to the enterprise system, an integrated Web server for remote access and configuration, and an embedded IEC 61131-3 softlogic engine with normalized CoDeSys software for local control. Food Lion success story revisited, with new stores deployed in Virginia
Food Lion LLC is one of the largest supermarket chains in the United States with more than 1000 stores in 11 states. Energy costs are a grocer's second-largest expense, and can easily amount to 10 percent of each store's operations. Controlling and reducing energy costs is critical as Food Lion works to keep customer prices low. Consequently, the company has adopted preeminent and efficient energy management practices. The ELUTIONS AEM Solution lets Food Lion monitor energy usage in every area of its stores, and provides several efficiency services such as load control, peak-shaving generators and innovative procurement strategies. Food Lion's aggressive efforts to reduce energy consumption have saved the company nearly $104.8 million in actual dollars, and executive management estimates that the company's 2005 energy budget would have been nearly $46 million higher without the energy efficiency initiatives adopted in the previous years. As a result of the implementation and successful execution of Food Lion’s overall Energy Management Strategy, of which ELUTIONS’ technologies constitute an integral part, over the past four years the company has netted cost and energy reductions equal to powering 285 supermarkets, or 23% savings.

Fleet Management Solution for Chicago Transit Authority
The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) in Chicago, IL, operates the second largest public transportation system in the US, including a fleet of approximately 2,000 buses, 1,200 transit cars and 40 police cars. The agency recognized that remote vehicle maintenance and vehicle monitoring for their fleet of police cars were crucial to improve communication and fast response in case of emergencies. ELUTIONS and Sprint Nextel provided a successful fleet management solution to confront these technological challenges.

ELUTIONS provided a robust management and monitoring solution composed of the iRX router and ALERT^® (Asset Location and Exception Reporting Tool) application. An ELUTIONS GPS-enabled router was mounted inside each police car for the secure transmission of vehicle data over the Sprint-Nextel iDEN network. The information is captured and stored and can be accessed by CTA dispatchers using ALERT web-based software. In addition to the normal asset tracking features such as mapping, routing, location and speed, ALERT also provides engine diagnostics and exception notification and reporting tools which can be delivered by email or text message, for enhanced vehicle maintenance.

ELUTIONS participates in the True American Hero Motorcycle Ride in Memory of officer Dennis Stepnowski
On November 18, 2006, ELUTIONS was a Host Partner at the Memorial Motorcycle ride organized by Sprint, DeKlab County Police and Georgia State Patrol. The True American Hero ride commemorated Officer Dennis Stepnowski, killed in the line of duty June 29, 2006. All proceeds are donated to the True American Hero Fund to honor all the first respondents that lost their lives in the line of duty. Family and friends said he was fun loving and would prefer a commemoration of his life and service. The motorcycle ride took place in Atlanta, Georgia and covered an approximate distance of 70 miles with organized stops.
