ISO New England Renews Contract for ELUTIONS’ Internet-Based Communication System - Open Solution (IBCS-OS)
TAMPA, Florida – February 28, 2007 – ELUTIONS Inc. today announced the multi-year renewal of its contract with ISO New England, operator of the region's bulk power system and wholesale electricity markets, to provide the Internet-based Communication System - Open Solution (IBCS-OS) for New England’s Demand Response Programs. ELUTIONS Inc., based in Tampa, Florida, is the premier provider of Wireless Enterprise Automation solutions which help companies dramatically improve their asset performance, energy usage, and workforce productivity.
Over the past 3 years, ELUTIONS has been the provider to the ISO New England of the IBCS-OS system which has been well-regarded by independent reviewers and has been proven to be highly effective in various circumstances. ISO New England’s Demand Response programs compensate large electricity users for reducing consumption when market prices are high or demand is high and system reliability is at risk. The IBCS-OS system enables the ISO to schedule events, notify demand response providers of demand response events and to receive data from the providers on the amount of energy reduction achieved by customers. This two-way information flow helps facilitate the calculation of compensation to program participants.
